

Down Under dive offers four reef destinations from Cairns to the magnificent northern reefs. Our area of operation includes:

Norman reef: Great variety of fish life, pelagics, turtles, coral gardens, swim throughs, caves, giant clams.
Saxon reef: Hard corals, moray eels, lion fish, maori wrasse, beautiful coral gardens.
Hastings reef: Hard and soft corals, walls, swim throughs, turtles, stingrays.
Michaelmas reef: Giant clams, walls, black coral swim throughs, black coral trees, lion fish, maori wrasse.
Dive conditions in Cairns are pleasant year round. Water temperature ranges from 20 degrees Celsius in winter to 30 degrees in summer. (For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere remember that summer in your Hemisphere is winter here!) Underwater visibility is typically 10 to 20 metres. Our sites are selected to be free of strong currents.
Full gear hire is included in the price of all trips along with food and linen.
Your are welcome to bring your own gear but please note that Queensland dive regulations require all divers to have an alternate air source.
Computers and underwater cameras are available for hire on the boat.
Our well-stocked shop has a selection of of gear and resort wear available for purchase.
